Ocean Justice Advocacy Group

OJAG builds just and equitable ocean, coastal and Great Lakes policy by incorporating the perspectives of BIPOC communities through increased representation, fostering relationships, sharing ideas and recommendations, and amplifying common goals with a collective voice.

CHOW &

OJAG

OJAG formed from a group of community-focused organizations brought together in to advise the CHOW 2021: Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, Sustaining our Oceans and Great Lakes. After the event, OJAG formed a commitment to address the urgent need for change in ocean and coastal policy to incorporate the perspectives of BIPOC communities, increase representation, and create stronger and more equitable outcomes. These organizations envision a thriving ocean community, centering both people and nature, built on the power of justice, equity, inclusion, love, and the sacredness of the Ocean.
